Federal legislation in progress

  • Introduced March 3, 2025 and referred to the House Energy and Commerce and Judiciary committees. If enacted, the bill would establish minimum standards for electronic and remote notarizations affecting interstate commerce and require federal/state recognition of qualifying notarizations. It is not law yet.
